Akshara Kuduvalli is a second-year student at UC San Diego, where she is pursuing a major in Computer Engineering and a minor in Physics.

Having always been interested in the intersection of engineering with other disciplines, Akshara’s passion for aerospace was sparked with her involvement in her university’s SEDS chapter. At SEDS UCSD, she does Data Analytics and Electronics in the project team Colossus, a bi-propellant static-fire engine test stand. In addition, she serves as a mentor to first-year women as part of SEDSxFEM, which empowers women within the organization and in the aerospace industry. She is forever grateful for the community and experience that she has gotten at SEDS since joining, and she is committed to making aerospace and engineering a community of support and welcome, as it has been for her thus far.

She worked two summers at Reflexion Medical, where she learned to apply Data Analytics and Software Development to the field of medical linear accelerators. In high school, she built an app, Mercy: Cruelty-Free, a catalog of non-animal tested cosmetic products and brands to encourage and simplify ethical beauty purchases.

Outside of engineering, Akshara is an active member in multiple South Asian organizations on campus. In her spare time, she loves to read, roller-skate, bake, and crochet.

As a Brooke Owens Fellow, Akshara is beyond thrilled to be joining HawkEye 360 this summer!
