Our Executive Mentors

May Rosekrans

May Rosekrans is the Production Manager for Orbit Fab, Inc., a startup that is building the in-space propellant supply chain with Gas Stations in Space™ technologies. Her responsibilities include laying out the manufacturing facilities, assembly tooling, integration processes and test foundations for supporting the production of RAFTI™ (Rapidly Attachable Fluid Transfer Interface) and electro-mechanical propulsion products that sustain Orbit Fab's refueling architecture.

May joined Orbit Fab in 2021, after previously serving as the Microsat Test Manager with Blue Canyon Technologies, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies. In this role, she built, trained, and equipped teams to lay the foundation of a new manufacturing facility and streamlined processes to efficiently integrate ESPA-class spacecraft buses for testing. These projects spanned a diverse spectrum of missions from civil to commercial and military space. She also led test development for a new CMG product line and designed electronic test hardware for board-level and deployable flight components.

Prior to joining Blue Canyon Technologies, May was the technical lead for the EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) group supporting the GPSIII/F programs as part of the ATLO (Assembly Test and Launch Operations) organization at Lockheed Martin. She designed and was responsible for 90+ EGSE racks and software systems that supported the Electrical Power, Telemetry Tracking Control, Communication and Attitude Control testing of satellite systems. She contributed to advancing Lockheed Martin's satellite processing facility through automation, and orchestrated RF payload test equipment development to support the production floor. She coordinated and deployed launch support equipment in conjunction with SpaceX and ULA, paving the way for future GPSIII constellation launch campaigns. Her 17-year career with Lockheed Martin also spanned commercial and military programs like GOES, AEHF, SBIRS, MUOS, and GeoEye to name a few. With dozens of satellite launches under her belt, she chalks up her success to diversified partnerships and collaborative teamwork.

May received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering at UCLA and M.S. in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University. She is also an alumnus of Lockheed Martin's Engineering Leadership Development Program, UCLA's Technical Management Program and recipient of the UCLA School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Russell O'Neill Distinguished Student Service Award and Engineering Achievement Award for Student Welfare.
