ALEXIS LOPEZ 
(Uh-LEK-sis, she/her)

Alexis is a second-year student at Lone Star College as a Chancellor's Fellows Scholar with a plan to transfer to Rice University in the fall for aerospace engineering. Her fascination with engineering began in elementary with UIL number sense.

Her passion only continue to grow in junior high when she joined her schools robotics club. Alexis has always been fascinated by robotics and engineering. She has worked on a NSF-funded research project for computer vision in a CubeSat growth module and highly enjoys conducting research. Alexis aspires to work as an industry research with a focus on robotics and deep space.

Alexis is passionate about advocating for more women in STEM careers. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, reading, painting and running.
