Alisa Webb is currently a third-year undergraduate student at Rice University in Houston, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Developing a love for space after receiving her first telescope at the age of eight, her interests continued to grow throughout middle school and high school for engineering, especially in aerospace engineering.

At Rice University, Alisa is involved in Rice Eclipse, a student-led, high-powered rocketry team that competes at the Spaceport America Cup in New Mexico. In Rice Eclipse, Alisa currently acts as the Structures Sub-Team Lead, which is responsible for the motor retention system, launch guidance system, and stability of interconnecting components of the vehicle. In the past, Alisa has worked in the Composites, Airframe, and Launch Rail sub-teams of the club.

Alisa is a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Mechanical Engineers (DEIME) Committee in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Rice, which serves to increase accessibility to resources available to students and to create socially responsible engineers. Additionally, Alisa serves as a T.O.R.C.H Zone Senator for the National Society of Black Engineers and as a Peer Career Advisor at Rice University. In the summer of 2020, Alisa interned at Collins Aerospace as a Design Engineer Intern where she worked in Interiors. Her main project was designing a literature pocket that passed product guidelines and reliability requirements.

In the summer of 2019, Alisa worked as a mentor in the Summer STEM Lab in Louisiana. In her spare time, Alisa enjoys reading mysteries, hiking with friends, cooking, exploring new music, and traveling. As a 2021 Brooke Owens Fellow, Alisa will be interning at The Boeing Company.
