Brooke Owens Fellow, Class of 2019
Georgia Institute of Technology, Aerospace Engineering , '20
Host Institution: Amazon Prime Air
Ashleigh Bunch is a 3rd year at Georgia Tech majoring in aerospace engineering and minoring in psychology. Instilled with a lifelong love for all things space, she was drawn to aerospace engineering while taking a History of Space Exploration class and learning about the amazing women who were instrumental to the development of the aerospace industry. Although she was originally drawn into aerospace by her love of space, it was her interests in planes, aerodynamics, and cognitive engineering that made her fall in love with her major and the industry.
As a Georgia Tech student, Ashleigh embodies her school’s motto of “Progress and Service” through her involvement in her school’s band program, in which she serves as Drum Major for the Yellow Jacket Marching Band. She is also a sister of the Epsilon Theta chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, a National Honorary Band Service Sorority, where she has served as Historian and now serves as Vice President of Membership. Ashleigh is also a Stamps President’s Scholar and a member of Georgia Tech’s chapter of SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space).
As a Brooke Owens Fellow, Ashleigh is incredibly excited to work with Amazon Prime Air, Amazon’s drone delivery service, this coming summer.
