Aspen McKee is a third year astrophysics student at Montana State University. She is from rural Montana and is passionate about encouraging confidence and pride in students from all backgrounds in STEM fields. She has previously interned twice with the Montana Space Grant Consortium, designing and building printed circuit boards (PCBs) for high altitude ballooning systems, as well as a PCB currently set to launch to the ISS in December, 2026.
Additionally, at Montana State University, Aspen plays saxophone in the MSU Saxophone Ensemble, sings in a School of Music choir, and is the president of her campus a cappella group. She is interested in connecting music and astrophysics and has also been exploring gravitational wave research.
This summer, Aspen will be an intern at a.i. solutions as an Aerospace/Computer Science intern. She is excited to contribute to the development of aerospace technologies utilizing her physics education. In her free time, Aspen enjoys playing piano, drawing, painting, and hiking with her dog, Bounce.
