Hannah Nabavi is a sophomore at UC Berkeley studying Engineering Physics. A Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar, AIAA Diversity Scholar, and Cal Alumni Leadership Scholar, Hannah is a born leader with a passion for making things happen.

As a woman interested in all-things engineering, Hannah from a young age was aware of the gender disparity that exists in STEM. Determined to eliminate the disparity, Hannah founded Steminism, an organization dedicated to inspiring underrepresented groups to pursue STEM across the Bay Area. Motivating hundreds of elementary and middle school students through her hands-on curriculum, Hannah is committed to breaking down barriers and making STEM more inclusive.

As an accomplished National Circuit policy debater, Hannah also has an extensive skillset in debate and negotiation. When she is not busy leading intellectual debates with her peers, Hannah can be found engaging in undergraduate research, exploring aerospace through rocketry clubs on UC Berkeley’s campus, and learning about various exciting applications in physics and materials science.

As a 2022 Brooke Owens Fellow, Hannah will be interning at Virgin Orbit in Long Beach, California.
