Harriet Brettle
Harriet Brettle is the Executive Director of the Keck Institute for Space Studies (KISS), a think-tank that brings together scientists and engineers from Caltech, NASA-JPL, and beyond to develop innovative new space science missions and technologies. Before joining Caltech, Harriet was Head of Market Analysis and Business Intelligence at the European Space Agency (ESA) within the Connectivity & Secure Communications directorate. Harriet has previously held the position of Head of Business Analysis at Astroscale, a startup focused on developing sustainable space services and mitigating space debris, and also served as Chair of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), a global non-profit that supports students and young professionals to connect to the wider space industry. With a background in finance having worked at the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, as well as a master's degree in planetary science and bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Harriet is passionate about space technology and emerging opportunities within the space ecosystem.
