Julia is a first-year Master’s Aerospace Engineering student at The Technical University of Munich in Germany after graduating from The University of Manchester. She is a person who cannot simply go through a day without asking herself questions. Why do some things work a certain way? How do events and various things influence one another? Are there better and more efficient ways of solving problems?

Julia grew up in Gdansk, Poland. Having a passion for space and a highly-developed curiosity, she decided to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering at a university abroad. She strongly believes that challenging oneself to go outside of their comfort zone can really shape a person's character.

Julia completed a year-long engineering placement at Rolls-Royce where she worked across two teams – UltraFan and TrentXWB. She also participated in various programmes such as Airbus Airnovation Summer Academy and ESA Guide to Spacecraft Operations course. Moreover, during her placement year she was strongly involved in STEM outreach; teaching children about the jet engines and developing their curiosity. Outside of the engineering world, Julia is learning four languages, playing the piano, windsurfing, travelling and hiking.

Together with other 19 talented students, Julia is currently receiving Gdansk Fahrenheit Scholarship. It is the only such scholarship in Europe which supports young citizens in fulfilling their dreams of studying abroad.

As a Brooke Owens Fellow, Julia interned with Planet Labs in San Francisco, CA.

Julia is always eager to learn new skills, meet inspiring people and help others develop their potential.
