Lillian Sudkamp is currently a sophomore at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, studying Aerospace Engineering, Astro Track. Originally from Houston, TX, Lillian had a deep love for STEM, especially mathematics, from a young age. However, she did not find her calling to Aerospace Engineering, specifically the exploration of space, until she attended an engineering camp her sophomore year of high school.

At Embry-Riddle, Lillian is the Structures Team Lead for EagleSat, an undergraduate club with NASA’s CubeSat Initiative. The team is currently working on the EagleSat 2, a 3U CubeSat, that will study Cosmic Ray Particles and Memory Degradation, and hopefully will launch Spring of 2023. Lillian was a paid student researcher with EagleSat in the summer of 2021, and currently, she is a recipient of the NASA Space Grant through the Undergraduate Research Institute at Embry-Riddle for her work on the EagleSat 2.

In addition to EagleSat, Lillian is also a proud member of the Society of Women Engineers and the Women’s Ambassadors Program at Embry-Riddle, both of which work to advocate for and promote an interest in STEM for women in the community. Outside of school, Lillian has a passion for volunteering. Her favorite experiences include the Houston Zoo and the Debusk Enrichment Center for Academically Talented Scholars (DECATs) summer program. She also enjoys a variety of hobbies in her free time including crochet and baking.

Lillian is thrilled and honored to be able to experience her first internship this summer, as a member of the Brooke Owens Class of 2022, with Iridium.
