Linda is a junior at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in German. From a young age, Linda was interested in the stars and the vastness of space and decided to pursue mechanical engineering because of it. She has been heavily involved in a student club called AeroSAE since her freshman year, building RC aircraft for a national competition that she attends each year with her team. Linda is passionate about increasing the representation of women and gender minorities in the aerospace field, and has gone to great lengths to change the structure of ASAE since her freshman year to recruit and include more women in the club. Last summer, Linda took part in research at the Technical University of Hamburg in Germany under the topic of Topology Optimization, working on an in-house optimization toolbox and solving unilateral contact constraint problems. With a love for traveling, she hopes her interest in aerospace will take her to see many new countries in her life and try the many different foods of the world. In her free time, Linda works as a campus ambassador at Berkeley giving tours to admitted students, and loves making films with her roommates, creating laser-cutter crafts, doing jigsaw puzzles, and watching movies.
