  • Georgetown University, Finance and Management, ‘23

  • Host Institution: Voyager Space Holdings

Madeleine is a sophomore at Georgetown University, studying Finance and Management. Originally from a small town in upstate New York, Madeleine developed a love for aerospace while working in her family’s small aerospace company this past summer. Her work in the factory as an assemblywoman paired with her work in the finance department instilled a fascination by aerospace business processes within her. Madeleine is so excited and honored to pursue her interest in aerospace as an intern at Voyager Space Holdings and as a Brooke Owens Fellow.

Voyager Space Holdings is a holding company that acquires companies in the space exploration industry. It is driven by its mission to create a vertically integrated, publicly traded NewSpace company. Madeleine is excited about the potential opportunity that Voyager presents to retail investors, as well as the opportunity it presents to smaller aerospace companies.

In her free time, she works for the Hilltop Microfinance Initiative (HMFI), which is a nonprofit organization that distributes small business loans to marginalized entrepreneurs in the Washington D.C. area, as the Director of Development. Madeleine spent this past semester working for Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF), which is an international fund manager that makes private equity investments in small to medium sized enterprises located in emerging markets. Through her work for HMFI and SEAF, Madeleine developed an interest in increasing equitable access to capital, and she is excited to a play a part in helping Voyager Space Holdings foster a healthy capital ecosystem within the space industry while working on acquisition deals in the Summer of 2021.
