Marie Villarreal Dean is a graduate of Wellesley College with a degree in International Relations-Political Science. Previously, Marie interned with the Nuclear Threat Initiative where she researched intersections between emerging technologies and international law. As a Brookie at the Aerospace Security Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, she published independent research on the role of satellites in the U.S. nuclear command and control network. Interning as a Space and Nuclear Policy intern at Zeno Power, a startup focused on commercial radioisotope power systems, Marie helped lead regulatory work surrounding export controls, mission authorization, launch approval, and international law for nuclear power systems. Currently, Marie is an analyst at Renaissance Strategic Advisors in Washington, DC.
