Upasana is currently a junior at UC Berkeley studying Mechanical Engineering. She is extremely involved in AeroSAE, an airplane building club on campus. Upasana leads the aerodynamics team on AeroSAE and helps design and build the wings and control surfaces for the plane! She has done one previous aerospace internship at General Atomics where she learned about mission analysis and helped create behaviors for autonomous aircrafts. Upasana has also done some aerospace related research at Berkeley’s Space Sciences Lab where she worked on creating electromagnetic simulations for different types of antennas for a project with the goal of capturing the signal emitted by neutral hydrogen to try to determine what the beginnings of the universe looked like. Upasana also loves electronics and was an undergraduate GSI for an electronics class where she helped teach concepts and labs to mechanical engineering students. Beyond her obsession with airplanes, Upasana loves running, Taylor Swift, knitting and crocheting, and spending time with her lovely friends. She hopes to one day create a crochet machine.
