Evelyn Chin is a third year transfer student at UC Irvine pursuing a major in Computer Science. She currently works as Special Projects Lead at Emerge, a tech company working to bring touch and emotion to the metaverse. In 2021, she interned with Draper Labs in Cambridge, MA as a Brooke Owens Fellow.

Evelyn plans to dedicate her career towards fighting the climate crisis. She believes deeply in adaptive solutions that leverage an intersectional approach to address all technical and social components of the crisis, such as climate injustice, environmental racism, climate refugees, and voting rights, among many others. She is a part of EarthDNA, a climate non-profit organization headed by Head of MIT Media Lab Dr. Dava Newman, as well as the Sunrise Movement Orange County Hub.

In her free time, Evelyn enjoys exploring the world, meeting new people, and learning new things. She has played piano for more than a decade and had a brief chess obssession after a ridiculous binge of the Queen's Gambit. She is currently learning Tae Kwon Do, archery, bouldering, guitar, and the ancient game of Go after a challenge made by a friend.
