Zeina Rmaile is an aerospace engineering student at the Georgia Institute of Technology driven by a fascination with how complex systems are brought to life. She is a dual American‑Belizean citizen who grew up in Lebanon, the United States, and the Netherlands. Moving between cultures, she learned to listen first, adapt quickly, and collaborate across differences, skills that shape her approach to engineering.

At Georgia Tech, Zeina is a research assistant in the Lunar Lab, where she developed a low-cost quadrotor platform that grew from a single prototype into a reproducible fleet used for autonomous flight research. She led systems and mechatronics, integrating compute hardware, flight control, and sensing modules to achieve reliable, consistent performance. Through her project contributions, she has earned the President’s Undergraduate Research Salary Award, the PURA Travel Award, and the SGA Conference Fund Award in support of her presentation at the 2026 National Conference on Undergraduate Research. She also presented a seminar in the GT AE Brown Bag Lecture Series, sharing her findings with faculty and peers.

During her internship at Whisper Aero, Zeina built tools that streamlined complex engineering workflows. She developed cross‑platform automation software, geometric mass‑estimation models, and secure data‑integration pipelines that improved manufacturing precision across electric propulsor development. Collaborating across Manufacturing, Project Management, and Flight Sciences teams strengthened her ability to translate technical design into operational impact.

Community is central to how Zeina shows up at Georgia Tech. As a Student Ambassador, she represents the Institute to prospective students, families, alumni, and campus partners. She is also Co-Treasurer of the School of Aerospace Engineering Student Advisory Council and a member of Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Gamma Tau, honor societies that recognize her service and academic excellence. She currently serves as the Event Coordinator for the Hispanic Recruitment Team, expanding access to STEM pathways for underrepresented students.

Zeina’s creativity is guided by the same dedication and focus she brings to engineering. At Georgia Tech, she spins flag, rifle, and sabre on the color guard team, performing for thousands of Georgia Tech fans with the Yellow Jacket Marching Band. In her free time, she enjoys painting, singing, cooking, crafting, and dancing, each pursuit fueled by curiosity.

This summer, as a 2026 Brooke Owens Fellow, Zeina will join HawkEye 360 on the Systems Engineering team, contributing to satellite controls for RF-mapping spacecraft. She hopes to build a career in autonomy and controls, creating systems that are reliable, intuitive, and shaped by the diverse perspectives that have defined her life. She is honored to be a Brooke Owens Fellow and excited to grow within a community of women shaping the future of aerospace.
